Are you insured?
Horizon Arborist carries a $1 million commercial liability insurance policy with Peace Hills Insurance Company. All employees are also insured with the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB).

Do I need to be at home for an estimate?
Preferably, we would like to meet with you personally so there is proper communication regarding the job. Otherwise, a written estimate can be left in your mailbox or e-mailed. altFor smaller job requests, a verbal estimate may be provided over the phone.

Do you require a down payment to start the job?
No. However, we request full payment on the completion of the job.

When is payment due?
We request for payment upon completion of the job.

What are your methods of payment?
We accept cheque, cash, or e-transfer.

What are your standards of practice?
We adhere to ANSI A300 tree care standards and the ANSI Z133.1 safety standards (complete personal safety equipment).

What about elm trees?
Elm trees may only be pruned between October 1 - March 31, due to the activity of the elm beetle. However, elm trees may be removed at any time so long as the stump is also removed.

Can the size of any tree be controlled (deciduous as well as conifers)?
Generally, only fruit trees, conifers, and shrubs may be safely shaped to contain their size.

Is it good to top trees?
Topping (cutting all limbs to a certain height) leads to unhealthy growth which creates an unsightly tree. In most cases, topping is not a professional practice as it can lead to a tree’s premature death.
